Stories are everything…

…and everything is a story. Stories are the fundamental unit of our lives. Our thought are composed of them, and our hopes and dreams take the shape of them. Our experiences don’t inform our stories, Rather our stories – both shared cultural ones, and private inner ones – engender and beget our experiences. Of stories are our lives and fates forged, and in stories we find ourselves.

Stories, in this context, are not the opposite of truth. Since the shape of our thoughts are story-like, stories are in fact the only mechanism we have with which to make sense of what is true.
